Lubbock Alumnae Chapter History

The Lubbock Alumnae Chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta was installed on April 25, 1957.

However, Theta alumnae were active in the area before the alumnae chapter's inception and supported the local college chapter at Texas Tech University since the Sans Souci social club received its charter to become the Gamma Phi Chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta in 1953.

A Lubbock alumna rented her home to the Gamma Phi Chapter when their lodge was destroyed by a tornado in 1970. There were sixteen alumnae that arranged for the college chapter to purchase the property and build the very first lodge on Greek Circle. Alumnae have continued the support of the chapter through six renovations of the lodge to accommodate the chapter's growth and necessary resources.

Today, the Lubbock Alumnae Chapter supports the Gamma Phi chapter's philanthropic and service efforts, as well as fostering life long sisterhood after graduation through luncheons, fundraisers, networking, service and striving to positively influence the Lubbock community.
